The B.S. in Environmental Science (ENVS) degree encompasses the study of natural environmental systems and the interaction of humans with these systems. It includes a strong foundation in the basic sciences, requiring core content in biology, chemistry, Earth sciences, environmental policy, mathematics, and physics, as well as communication, computational skills, field, and upper-level coursework builds lab. Students are encouraged to create a focused pathway of electives that corresponds to their interests and career goals.
- Upper-level coursework allows students to customize their program of study based on interest.
- Students will complete a capstone research project that integrates the knowledge they have gained through the program.
This degree takes advantage of 色花堂鈥檚 expertise in aquatic chemical ecology, environmental chemistry, climate science, environmental policy, marine science, and microbial dynamics. ENVS will prepare students for careers in environmental conservation, consulting, education, and sustainability. It also provides a strong base for students interested in pursuing graduate programs and careers in environmental law, medicine, policy, and other master鈥檚 and Ph.D. programs in environmentally related disciplines.
This degree is jointly offered by the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and the School of Biological Sciences.
